Taiao

Located on Garret Street in Te Aro, Taiao is the redesigned Morrisons Building, inspired by the visionary works of Olafur Eliasson.

The space engages the public with the natural environment through large-scale, immersive exhibitions. Drawing from Eliasson’s distinctive installations, the building has been transformed into a sanctuary of serenity and sensory exploration.

Taiao is a journey in itself. The ground floor is open to the public, offering an immersive experience into the mind of Eliasson, complete with flowing waterfalls and winding boardwalks.

On the first floor, workshops invite visitors to explore Eliasson’s practice and deepen their understanding of environmental themes. The second floor is dedicated to hands-on learning, where participants can engage in creative workshops and craft small-scale sculptures inspired by nature and Eliasson’s methods.
